For a Japanese nurse with Japanese nursing qualifications to work in Vietnam, obtaining a medical practice certificate is necessary.

The requirements are as follows: ① Possession of a medical specialty graduation certificate issued or recognized in Vietnam, ② Proficiency in Vietnamese or the presence of an interpreter in the facility, ③ No criminal history, ④ Possession of a work permit (working visa).

A work permit is required, and for this, one must be a "manager, CEO, expert, or technical worker (as per certain provisions of the Vietnamese labor law concerning foreign workers)." Nurses fall under the category of "experts." One is recognized as an expert if they have a certificate stating so from a foreign institution, organization, or company.

When applying for the work permit, submitting a criminal record certificate, university diploma, resume, or other documents proving qualifications, along with the necessary paperwork, fulfills the requirement of having a "medical specialty graduation certificate issued or recognized in Vietnam," allowing one to work as a nurse in Vietnam.

While Vietnamese proficiency is a requirement, the arrangement of qualified interpreters means that not speaking Vietnamese is acceptable. However, given that many upper-class Vietnamese speak English, at least English communication skills might be necessary. (Source: Haruka Blog)
