Graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, Osaka Medical College. Started at the Gastroenterology Department of Osaka Red Cross Hospital, and after working in several private hospitals' gastroenterology departments, has performed over 20,000 endoscopic examinations to date, covering both upper and lower gastrointestinal tracts. At the time of starting to learn endoscopic examinations, the prevailing practice was to conduct the procedure without sedatives or analgesics, with discomfort and pain being considered normal. This prompted the decision to establish an ideal endoscopy clinic that uses sedatives and analgesics for all cases. Prioritizing accuracy and thoroughness over speed in examinations, the Oku Clinic specializes in internal medicine, gastroenterology, endoscopic medicine, and hepatology, with a staff of 40 members providing approximately 4,500 endoscopic examinations annually. Additionally, plans are underway to open a large-scale endoscopy clinic in Namba, Osaka, which will operate throughout the year except for during the New Year holidays, starting from May of the 6th year of Reiwa (2024).

JYUNYA MIZUKAMI
After working in multiple medical institutions including Tokyo Medical University Hospital, they decided to establish their own practice. They operate a visiting and outpatient clinic, providing a wide range of medical services rooted in the community, including health check-ups, preventive medicine, and pandemic response. They aim to create a symbiotic society where people live together and support each other in the community, not only attending to patients in front of them but also assisting citizens facing difficulties in social activities due to disabilities or dementia. They collaborate with other medical institutions and professionals to achieve this goal. Additionally, they serve as a member of the medical association to address the immediate concerns of citizens and work with the government to solve them, paving the way for a better community. Beyond the functions required in healthcare, they actively engage in social activities as a physician in the community. These efforts serve as a role model for ASEAN countries in developing social security systems and engaging in community activities centered around physicians. When ASEAN physicians take leadership in managing the health of their respective citizens from all perspectives, the activities of these grassroots doctors should be considered as a reference.
